In her own words,  I’m going to let her tell you about herself and her books!

“I’m a book nerd turned writer who loves the ‘Happily Ever After’ mixed with suspense, drama and the occasional cliffhanger! My Kindle is glued to my hands most of the time, but I still love the look and feel of paperback book.  My love of books brought me on my writing journey. I began writing my first book in July 2012 and since that time , I have created 2 series. The first series, “The Reunion Series” debuted in November 2012 and two books followed, those being stand alone novels. My new series, ‘The Shore Series’  released in March 2014. The first book is entitled, ‘Giving In’ and four books will follow in that series. When I’m not writing, you’ll never see me in front of the TV. Curled up with a good book, is where you’ll find me.  I am a huge Indie Author fan and supporter. ”

Letters to Luca

~The course of true love never did run smooth~ – Shakespeare

~Leighton Parks~

‘I only wrote letters to my high school crush for fear if he truly knew my identity, I would be rejected. I wasn’t the most confident girl in school, and he was well…he was Luca Ferro. How could he ever be interested in a shy, bookworm like me? That’s why I wrote them.  To tell all the feelings I had for him. When I stopped writing the letters, I never imagined that 10 years later they’d come back to change my life, forever.’

~Luco Ferro~

‘I always believed in soul mates, finding that one true love. And I found her, my letter girl, but never knew she was. She was a mystery. Her letters, her words, meant more to me than anything. I searched for her, thought of her day and night, but never found her.  I gave up on find the missing key to my puzzle—-that is until she walked right into my life and I didn’t know what hit me.’

A chance encounter brings Leighton and Luca together after ten years to their high school reunion. Will past secrets threaten to destroy their futures,  or will love be written in the stars for them just as it was in Leighton’s Letters?

Giving In

Raphael Cruz doesn’t do it. He just doesn’t. Cruz doesn’t fall in love.  He’s a “get in and get out” kind of a guy. Ladies love him and fall all over him for his swoon worthy good looks and overwhelming sex appeal. He knows how to talk to them and tells them exactly what they want to hear. When he’s done making them scream his name, he shows them straight to the door. The meaning of the word love doesn’t exist in his world. But, that could all change with a wink of a girl’s eye….And hot as hell romp in the bathroom.

Harlow Hannum is your typical girl-next-door. She had the brains, the beauty, and the money. What she doesn’t have is the luxury of being someone’s first choice in the game of love.  She always come in a distant second place, leaving her guarded with her feelings.  Lies, betrayal, and secrets of her past follow her wherever she goes,  no matter how hard she tries to hide them.  That is until she reunited with the one guy who can ignite that spark in her heart, that’s been extinguished for so long.

With Sunny days, heated nights, and love lingering on the air in the beach town of Sandy Cove anything can happen.  Especially when fate steps in for Harlow  and Cruz. Will their blossoming friendship turn into unexpected love or will the collision of their opposing worlds be the end of what could have been?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My name is Raphael Cruz. I was once a man made up of only flesh and bone.  Never feeling, just existing.  I indulged in the pleasures that others gave to me, and those I gave to them. That’s all it was—pleasure.  Physical pleasure. No emotions, no attachments.  I don’t need all of those feelings, didn’t want them.  There was no longing for love, no longing to let anyone in. Until I found her. And I gave in.
Harlow Hannum showed me what love was all about. I savored it and held it close, not even knowing I really wanted it in my life. She made me feel loved. She made me accept love.  She taught me to love in return.  My heart was open to it all. My heart was hers.  It belonged to her. But, she never knew.  And then lies, deceit, betrayal forced me to lose the one thing that made me than a man that just existed.  I should have told her I loved her when I had the chance. I should have told her. I gave in to all the powers that love possess.
Will I ever have the chance to tell her?  Will my past mistakes never give me that chance?
I need her to know.
I want her to know….
I’m in…..
Always
The loss of a Legend!
Maya Angelou was an incredible legend that had a stunning way with words. She had the power to speak to you and touch your soul. The reason why she touched your soul, is because it came from hers.
When she spoke, you felt it. You believe it. You saw it. You saw what she was talking about. You saw what she meant. When you reflect upon her words, you find how they fit into your life. One of my favorite saying by her is, “If someone shows you who they really are, believe them”. My gosh, what a true word that is!
That has stuck with me and that has been shown to me, relentlessly. Everywhere I look, I see exactly what she was talking about.
Being such a powerful source in the world, not just in the black community alone. Her words have echoed through the air and in the valleys. Over the Mountains and through the woods. There’s not a single person that can say, that her work hasn’t touched them in some way. She put her heart into her work. And as a person that loves to write, that’s what you dream of.
You dream of your work touching people and making them feel your soul and your heart through your words. Ms. Angelou was a master of this art. She made everyone that she came into contact with, feel special and loved.
Ms. Angelou will be loved and missed forever. Her work will live on. Through the ages and  through us, that love and admire her. We will never forget her and her work.
Ms. Angelou, you are amazing! Your work has inspired us and moved us. You, selflessly shared your heart, soul, and life through your work. You have gone through so many places, to inspire and to enlightened people. You have done things for people, that many of us will never know about, to help and motivate them. We may not know every specific, loving gift that you’ve given,  but God knows! We love and miss you! You are a Queen and always will be!
Rest in Peace Maya Angelou!!!! We love you and miss you!!!!
M.R. Joseph – Author
*From Tracee Ford – Tracee’s Sparkling Promo Series
Today, I am highlighting the work of an incredibly talented author, M.R. Joseph.
M.R. Joseph is a well-known author. She has created a very successful series called, “The Reunion Series”. Books in the series are: “You belong with me” and the starter, “Reunion”. And she has added another great edition to her series.
The latest installment is entitled, “Letters to Luca”. The story is about a woman named Leighton. She was a shy girl in high school who was head over heels for her crush, Luca.  She would write letters to him, sharing her feelings with him. She was certain that if he found out who was writing them, she would automatically be rejected.   Luca would receive the letters, never knowing who was this girl so in love with him. But, she was in his head! She moved and touched him with her words and he could not forget how she made him feel.
But, through a chance meeting ten years later, they reunite at their high school reunion. Finally, Luca meets his mystery woman. The question is, can they be together? Will life happen and keep them from finally becoming what they’d both been dreaming about for over a decade?
This is indeed, a fascinating story. One, that is so relatable and common. And that’s one of things that I think makes it such a great read.
And the reviews are just as amazing for this book, as is the rest of the series. I am incredibly happy to be able to be a part of this blog tour and I  hope that all of you, will take a look at her work, share it and enjoy it. For more on M.R., you look her up on Facebook, http://www.facebook.com/mrjoseph and here on the links to her book,  on Amazon.
What are your dreams as a Writer?
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved writing! I love sitting down with a pen and paper and just using that as my canvas. My canvas to paint whatever kind of picture that I want. I can write about my day, my dreams, my feelings, anything. It was like my own little world and I could write about whatever I wanted. But, I never thought in a million years, that I would actually get my work published!
It was a huge honor when I found out that I could I become a content writer. I wasn’t sure about what I should do, but I was determined to figure it out. I knew that it could be done,  but it would take a while. Well, I’m so glad that I stuck with it. I’ve been fortunate enough to get some of my work published on actual networks.
It’s been very exciting and I am looking forward to doing it again! It makes me want to work harder and write more! There’s nothing like being inspired to work harder.
Do Better!
You know yesterday, I was sitting at home and I was listening to some great pastors on TV. First, I heard Bishop T.D. Jakes and then I watched Joyce Meyer. Shortly after, I watched Joel Osteen. Each and every one of them were all talking about such great things.
Bishop Jakes was talking about time. How we can be wasting time with the wrong people. And when we suddenly let go of them, we find ourselves with a lot more time on our hands. I must say, I definitely find that to be true. I’ve experienced that personally. Where when you devote so much time to a group of people and they are not returning that, then you start to wonder. Are these people really my friends or are they takers? Are they gaining more out of this friendship, because of me, than I am?
It makes you wonder about some things. I started thinking, would I be further ahead or not? Then, I heard Joyce Meyer. She was talking about taking care of yourself. She was telling this story about a Man. Who said that he loved to drink soda and it never bothered him, until he got older. And she was saying how important it was, to eat healthy and drink your water.
Now, obviously, those are things that I should be doing anyway. But, have you ever had those times when there are things that you know you should be doing better, but for some reason or other you just don’t do it? Yeah, well we all know that for some of us, this happens with adopting healthy habits.
And Joel was talking being a miracle. He was talking about how we’re always praying for a miracle, but we should try to be that miracle that we’re praying for. We should try to do right, even if it inconveniences us. He said that we should be like the Good Samaritan and give it our all.
There were so many great lessons that I heard last night and I really enjoyed the sermons that I heard. These are really gifted speakers and I am very happy that I got to receive such great messages.
We’ve all got a lot of learning and growing to do. Everybody has changes to make and sometimes, we just need to hear a good sermon, in order to help us get there.
Basically, we all must Do Better!
B10GHER: What an Amazing Blog!!!
In August of last year, Mom and I had a talk. She told that she thought that I should start a blog. And of course, I was very nervous. I mean, seriously. I wasn’t incredibly familiar with what blogs were, but I knew the general gist of them. You were responsible for them and you wrote every word that was seen on them.  They are seen on the worldwide web and so that means, everything that you think and write, is on the internet.
So, yeah. That’s pretty intimidating.  But, I decided to give it a whirl and get my feet wet. And since I didn’t know what I was doing, I knew that I needed guidance. I needed to find a source, where I could learn and grow. So, as I usually was everyday, I was reading “The Pioneer Woman” and I am so enthralled with what she writes an her photography. So, I was reading and I had always seen the Blogher ads, but I wasn’t sure what it was about. But, I decided to check it out. And boy, am I ever happy that I did!
Becoming a part of Blogher, has changed my life and my outlook on life! It felt so good to create my own page and then just write about whatever I felt like at the time. But, of course, I still didn’t know what it was like to be a blogger. I had no idea what it was like and I didn’t understand it. But, I knew that it would take time. I knew that I needed to have structure, so that’s why I started doing research on it.
It wasn’t until recently, that it began to sink into my head. Now, I am finally beginning to understand what blogging is. I am finally beginning to understand the dynamics and to understand that blogging is not the easiest thing that you’ll ever do. But, it can definitely be, one of the most worth things.
I owe my blogging passions, to my Mom, Ree Drummond and Blogher! They have been incredible inspiration to me! I absolutely love them all. And I want to thank BlogHer for featuring my Blogher post on BlogHer. I am so, so so grateful for the opportunity to blog for BlogHer  and on my own blog.
I only hope that I can get those same ads on here, so that someone who is like, curious about blogging and want a source where they can grow, learn and mature as bloggers, can have a way to get to Blogher. But, if you want the link to Blogher, here it is.
And if you want to read my Blogher post, here’s the link.
I hope that you’ll like it and feel free to comment!
Thank you BlogHer for Everything!!!
Free Time
One thing about being unemployed, is that you find yourself with a lot of free time. Too much free time! When you’re not out looking for jobs and trying to organize your information properly, reading books to make sure that you’re doing things right, and cleaning the house, you have a lot free time!
How do you fill that free time? What all do you do with it?
A questions that was just asking myself when I was trying to figure out what I was going to blog about. I had no idea and a case of writer’s block. And boy, do I hate when that happens! Just horrible. And all of you, know exactly what I am talking about.  When you’re in front of your computer and you’re just staring at a blank page. No ideas at all.Nothing is coming to you and you just don’t know how to remedy that.
That’s one of the reasons why I really want to be employed! I can’t wait until I get a good job. Because, I really want to become a part of the workforce and contribute to the planet. I sincerely hope that that day of working will come. In the meantime, Blog development.
This is something that is incredibly important to me. I want to develop this blog into being what I hope, want and know it can be. I’ve been looking for and at a lot of blogs and I am enjoying myself. I am really enjoying these blogs that I’ve been able to see and comment on.  Beautiful, Fresh, Creative and Insightful. Blogs of all shapes and sizes. Love them!!!
So, I am working on filling my free time and making it work in the best way it can, for my blog and for potential work that I plan on doing in the future.
I will be keeping you posted!!!
Our first Mother’s Day without Granny
A while back, Mom and I knew that we’d be getting flowers for my Grandmother. But, we weren’t sure if we going to put them in the church or not. So, we decided to keep it simple and just take some flowers to the cemetery.
Mom had a test that she had to do and I ran some errands. She told me that if I could, to stop by the store and pick out a flower. Well, I went to the store and I found beautiful flowers and they look like something that Granny would love. But, what I didn’t know, was that on the lunch that Mom had, she went and bought beautiful flowers, too. Somehow, we bought the exact same flowers!
Since we buried Granny, Mom has been very nervous that she wouldn’t be able to go back. She was just scared. And I told her that if she didn’t want to go back, that I would put the flowers out there. But, I also didn’t want her to be nervous. So, all I did was just support her, to determine what she felt the most comfortable with.
So today, after she got back from her test, (And fortunately, she passed the test!) She told me that she got up the nerve to go out to the cemetery and put flowers on Granny’s grave and My Great-Grandmother, her Grandmother’s grave.
Mom wanted me to drive and while I was driving, she told me that she was getting nervous. And I could see that, too. But, I reassured her that I was with her and I would help her through it. She asked the Lord for help and he granted it. She was great! She did great! I was so proud of her. She was as strong as her parents, grandparents and family taught her to be.
Mom has had quite a day and I made sure that she had a nice meal and now, she’s relaxed and happy. Today, was quite a day for us. But, Granny helped us through it. We all love Granny and miss her so much. I am hopeful that this Mother’s Day will be a beautiful and happy day. And I am sure that it will be!
