A story that I’ve been following

As usual, there’s so much going on, until it’s hard to keep up with it all. We’ve seen some incredible feats and we’ve seen some tragedies. And on Blogher, I’ve been keeping up with this story that has been developing. On Blogher, I’ve been writing about this story on this young girl named Victoria.

Victoria is an adorable three year old girl,  was brutally attacked and mauled by the vicious Pitbulls. Victoria was spending time with her Grandfather and his girlfriend. When these three pitbulls broke into the house and brutally attacked her.

Victoria has lost an eye, has broken jaws, paralyzed on the left side of her face and has serious bruises.  She has been through a horrific experience and she is still going through it.  Her Grandfather and his girlfriend were both arrested for Child Negligence.

Now, the situation gets worse. Apparently, it was stated by Victoria’s Grandmother, that the family went to KFC and was getting ready to settle down for dinner. When one of the employees came up to them and asked them to leave. Why? Because Victoria’s face was ‘scaring the customers’! Now, when this happened, Victoria’s Grandmother took to Facebook and created a page. Explaining the situation to the world. They immediately got a lot of likes and a lot of support from people. And at the time, a spokesperson for KFC, said that they were looking into the matter and that actions would be taken.

Recently, the chain KFC that Victoria and her family went to, are now saying that they didn’t say those things. They are saying that this incident never happened. People are beginning to wonder, if Victoria’s Grandmother made this up, in order to get money.

Here’s what I think. First of all, I hate that this happened to this little girl. I hate that this little girl has been going through this misery. And I would really hate it, if people are using this girl’s horrid misfortune, as a way to get publicity and money. I would hate if people were trying to take advantage of such a sweet and innocent little girl. If KFC did do this, they should answer for such heinous treatment.  If Victoria’s Grandmother is making this up, she to should be ashamed of herself and she should answer for that. But, here’s the kicker. If KFC really didn’t do this, why would they take this long to say that? Now, I realize this all happened a couple of weeks ago.  But, I know that if someone lied on me and I knew it, I wouldn’t take that lying down! I would be so passive. I wouldn’t be one of those people that would just say, ‘Oh whatever! This will go away eventually!” No, I wouldn’t have that non-chalant attitude. If the KFC employee knows that they didn’t say that, then they shouldn’t have taken such a long time, coming forward with the truth.

So, it leads your mind to thinking one thing. Who’s telling the Truth? Who is right here? I know one person that’s not wrong, it’s young Victoria. One of God’s beautiful angels that he has on this earth and I want her to be happy. She deserves that.

I certainly hope that Victoria will get better. I hope that this situation will work out for the best. I hope that Victoria will be happy and that she will get the best. Because this battle, is not helping anyone. But, it’s hurting everyone.

Let us pray for this situation and Let us pray for Victoria and everyone involved. Because they all need it. And so all of us.

Tuesday

A simple day that started out in an exhausting way. Last night, Mom’s back was hurting brutally. Stiff as can be. At work and and I was at home, worried. So much so, that I couldn’t sleep. So, that was the start. Today, she came home and I was exhausted to. And I had to go job hunting.

Then, it started raining. And it rained! I got caught in heavy rain a couple of times and I must say, that even though I love rain, it’s always interesting to get caught in the rain, while you’re out on the job hunt. Because, you’re worried about your resumes and papers getting wet, and your clothes as well.

Then, I came back and clean. I blogged and I cook and I cleaned. A few hours ago, Mom was getting ready to go to work and she started experiencing nausea. And she experienced it so bad, that she vomited before she went to work! It was crazy! And by the grace of God, she was able to get out of work.  So, she’s home tonight and I am so happy that she’s feeling better.

I’ve been cleaning and cleaning, until the house began to smell like, we were in an actual bottle of cleaner! Okay, so I got a little too active with the cleaning and I was a bit lavish with the detergent. I get like that when I clean. I can go nuts. And I am a rare young person.

See, most people my age, would love to spend money on clothes, hair and technology. But me, I love finding a great bargain on detergent and food. I love having plenty of things to clean with and I panic when I run out. It’s like a lifeline for me. As stupid as that sounds, it is.

So tonight, I will be going to bed sooner than I did last night and I plan on sleeping.

I have so many things to blog about. But, since I’ve been running all day on basically three or less hours of sleep, I don’t want to mess it up. So, I will be making fuller blog posts this week. So, I look forward to talking to you.

Wide awake next time!

Love to cook and share? Join the Tasty Kitchen Community!

How many of you know about the Tasty Kitchen community? How many of you, know who created it?

Yes, of course you know. The brilliant Ree Drummond  created Tasty Kitchen in association with her blog, The Pioneer Woman. Well, I’ve thought about joining Tasty Kitchen, but I wasn’t sure how I could or would do on it.

Now, of course I knew that it was for cooking. But, there is a big difference between cooking for your Mom and yourself, and cooking where you can make a dish that looks good enough to photograph and put on a blog. A blog, created by Ree and one that will be seen by millions of people. That’s intimidating. At least, I think so. I have never done any kind of foodblogging. Ever. All I know,  is that you’ve got to make your food look approachable and easy to make, while making it look attractive.

So, clearly, I’ve got a lot to learn about that. I would actually like to learn more about foodblogging. I would like to share some of my favorites things to cook, on there.  I must learn to cook and photograph properly. So, I am now on the Tasty Kitchen blog and I am very excited about it. I am hoping that I will do well on it.

And if you’re interested in starting a food blog, try your hand at Tasty Kitchen. Because there are people that have been on Tasty Kitchen for a long time and you can really look to them for inspiration. And you can add them as friends! It’s really great and I am very excited to be a part of it. Hopefully, I will get better at it.

It’s great learning different forms of blogging, isn’t it?

The Bloggers and Authors Tutorial

Hello Everyone!

I am excited to share with my new event on Facebook, designed for bloggers and authors.

On June 21st, I am going to be having,”The Bloggers and Authors Tutorial on Facebook at 7 p.m. The objective for this event, was inspired by my experience as a rookie blogger.

When I got started a few months ago, I was like a fish out of water. I had no clue what to do or what to expect. I didn’t know how to set up a blog, whether I had to pay for it and what I needed to do in order to get readers to come to my blog. And I most certainly, was unaware of the amount of work that goes into creating and maintaining a blog. I didn’t know anything about what blogging was, accept for the fact that you write and it goes on the internet. But, as we all know, there’s so much more to it than that. And that’s what I learned the hard way.

Until a couple of months ago, I didn’t know that I going about things all wrong! I had no idea how important it is to actually be active in social media. See, for a 25 year old girl, I am not socially media active! That might be an embarrassing thing to admit, but I wasn’t good with social media at all. I didn’t tweet worth nothing, I wasn’t as active on Pinterest. The only thing that I did do more frequently, was Facebook. That was it. I didn’t know how important it was to link your content to your social media outlets and vice versa. But, now I do.

I am certain that there many people just like me, that knows what it’s like to be excited about blogging, but to not have one clue about it. I know that there are people out there that are curious about it and they want to learn. I want to give people who are rookie bloggers like me, the chance to get a better and (wiser) start than I did. So, that’s why I created this idea.

So, on this event, bloggers and authors are going to be giving advice to people that want to create blogs and write books. I know that I’ve always been curious about writing a book and I want to hear from experienced authors on all of the proper actions and steps that should be exercised so that  all of us potential writers, can be successful authors.  So, if you would like to join us, please feel free to look up The Bloggers and Authors Tutorial on Facebook.  Feel free to bring great advice and get ready to be involved in good dialogue. Drop on by the Tutorial. We would love to have you!

#Promo – Taming the Country Star – Margo Bond Collins

He’ll do anything to win her heart.   She will do anything to keep him away!”

Country star Cole Grayson is in town, and Kylie Andrews is less than thrilled. As if months of changing the radio station and tearing down his posters weren’t bad enough, now she has to deal with a town of fans swarming toward the man that deceived her the year before. But when Kylie’s eyes meet Cole’s again, she can’t deny the electric chemistry that drew her to him the first time around.

Cole Grayson is on a mission. Ever since Kylie left him, he hasn’t been able to forget her sweet country smile. After writing a song just for her, he sets off for her hometown to prove he’s not the player she thinks he is. But as much as Cole can’t forget her, Kylie wonders if she can forgive him…..

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Excerpt~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kylie Andrews’s Texas-themed gift shop, Cowbelles, sat on the very outer edge of Fort Worth’s Stockyards District, not far from Jimmy’s honky tonk. And much to her dismay, no matter how often cleared it, the wall adjacent to her store remained covered with announcements for local events.  Like, for example, concerts. She stared at the latest layers of advertisements. From the topmost poster, Cole Grayson stared out at her, leaning against the edge of an old barn door, guitar at this feet.  One booted feet was kicked up against wooden wall behind him. His dark-blond hair curled around behind one ear, and fell down across his eye on the other side.
A cowboy hat rested on the ground next to the guitar.
Her hand drifted toward the image, hovering several inches from the picture of his face.   She glanced around. None of the other shopkeepers were outside. No one was watching. “Bastard”, she whispered to herself, and ripped the poster off the wall.  At least, she tried to. It was thicker than she expected, attached more firmly, and it resisted her pull.
Chewing on her lip, she took another look around, dropped her bag to the ground, and reached up to the grasp the edge with both fists, jerking at it in opposite directions. A tiny tear opened up along the side and she yanked harder. Finally, the poster ripped——-right across Cole Grayson’s lying eyes.
She tugged at the image some more, glanced around surreptitiously every few moments and dropping ragged pieces of paper on the ground at her feet,  until there was nothing left on the wall but a few fluttering strips.
Gathering the mutilated shreds together, she opened her bag and shoved them inside until they overflowed, bright ribbons of color in the morning light.
