Springing into Action (Garden Power)

Well, first of all since this is my first post of the new year, Happy New Year to all of you! I am extremely excited to be back on my blog. I have been trying to come up with new blogging ideas and I am finally coming up with some things. And I am so excited to share them with you.

It’s that time. The time when flowers are blooming, birds are singing, spring cleaning is happening, children are on spring break, allergies are in high gear and gardens are being planted. And I absolutely love planting! Last year, I had multiple harvests and I was really excited about all of it. But, for the past two years, I had small gardens. They produce well, but I wanted to have more space. So, this year I planted my garden in the backyard. And there’s already a major difference.

When I went into the backyard on Monday, the ground was harder than Calculus. I jsut couldn’t believe how difficult the soil was. I tried and tried to get it to soften, but to no avail. Finally, I gave it a rest for the day, only to come away with a headache! So, I left it alone for a couple of days and then yesterday, I went outside with the water hose to moisten the ground. It really helped and I was able to start planting today. It took a while. However now, I may have dug up a little too much space. Because I think that I have more space, than I have things to plant!

But, I am really happy to have gotten started. But, I starting working on my yard on Good Friday, (when you’re really supposed to start planting.) I had to work later in the day, so it gave me a chance to start with the flowers in the yard and work on the front yard. I have got a lot of work to do, to make the yard look the way that I want it to, but it will get done. After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day. And so, the yard will get there. And once it gets to that level, I will be more than happy to share some picture with you.

Not only do I have a yard to complete, But, I have paint rooms in the house and the porches outside. And I was looking for a desk. And my job was selling tables for cheap, just to get rid of them. I was able to get a great desk that has this executive look, for $10!!! And so, I am going to stain it and build a top for it, because it was a display unit and it had glass shelving. So, I am going to fix it up. I will share pictures of that also.

So, many things to get done and I am really thrilled. So, I am just going to take my time and get everything done.

Just curious. How many of you have big plans for your homes and gardens? Because we all think about how our homes look on the inside. But, we also love for the appeal on the outside to look just as good. So, what are some of your ideal dreams for your lawns? If you’d like to share, feel free. Do you have any tips for gardening? Any tips on home improvement? Believe me, I am absolutely accepting suggestions.

All in all, I do hope that All of you had a great Easter and if any of you have pictures that you would like to share, you can feel free to share them in the comments on this post.

I am really excited to see what you all come up with!
