Hello Everyone! As I posted before, Words are Art! And when words are placed into a beautiful order, they can touch and move you in a powerful way.

And this work of art is no different. T.M. Brown is an incredible author and I am honored to know her. We met through an incredible blogger, Wendy Ewurum and I am so grateful that these friendships have blossomed.

Her book, “Struggles of the Women Folk” is a book talking about the strength of us as women and the struggles that we face. This young girl in this book, is us. Through and through.

It’s available on Amazon. When you get a chance, go over there, check it out and give a read!

Thank you T.M. Brown for generously sharing your gift and your art with us!

Words Are Art

These are three words that really motivates me to write. I have never been able to draw, but I’ve always wanted to. Someday, I will learn. But, until that day, words are my art.

For me, this is how I feel about writing. I think of the blank page as a canvas. The pen is the paintbrush and the words are the colors. You can create any type of picture that you want. You can write a moving poem or you can write a great term paper. You can Blog or you can write a incredible book. The possibilities are truly endless.

If a story is in you, it has got to come out” – William Faulkner

Just think about this week’s major attraction. On Friday, “Fifty Shades of Grey” hits theaters. E.L. James was inspired by reading, “The Twilight Series” books and that gave her motivation to write a novel. Little did she know, that the book that she wrote would become a major hit and would sell a copy every second!

There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.” -Ernest Hemingway

All you’ve got to do, is sit down and allow your work flow freely. Let it come forth in the way that it’s suppose to. Forcing the artistry, does not make it fluent. It makes hard to create, hard to read and even harder to understand.

If there’s a book that you want to read, but it hasn’t been written, then you have to write it!” -Toni Morrison

This really speaks to me. I completely understand where she coming from and what needs to be done. The story that comes from within, can be one of the most beautiful stories ever shared. It’s all up to you, to be fearless enough to come forward and present that story to the world. You never know how much your words can inspire someone else to face their fears and embrace the destiny. In some cases, it takes one specific person to stand out and become that light in the face of darkness.

Sometimes the most powerful art in the world can come, simply from one sentence. There is something to said for the artist that sits down with a pen and paper, as oppose to the artist with a paintbrush and canvas. It is our way of translating our art and our beauty, while hoping to touch people in a moving way. Now, don’t get me wrong. I absolutely love Art! I love looking at the way that an artist creates poetry with colors, with different finishes, with contrast and depth. How an artist can look at nothing and turn it into something. I find it absolutely fascinating.

See, this is what I want to do with my life. I dream of being able to write and share my art and ideas with the world. But, of course, it starts with me.

One Word at a Time.
