What a Week!

First of all, let me say. I am truly sorry for not blogging this past week, but I have been incredibly busy on the job front. I have been working on getting things together for a possible position and I have been waiting for a job for a long time. So, that’s why I haven’t been able to blog.

But, I’m back now and I will continue to blog when I get a job as well! Because I just love this so much.

Ok, on to other things. This past weekend has been a big weekend for Weddings. Of course, we are all fully aware of the Famous Bachelor that has wined and dined some of the most beautiful women in the world and not he’s officially off of the market! And what I think is so cool about it, is that he hasn’t always been dating Hollywood Starlets! It hasn’t always been the type that has been on the cover of magazines. Teachers and now, Human Rights Lawyer is his Wife! I think that is so great! Just goes to show that sometimes, Fairy Tales can become a reality. It’s not always the expected person that gets the Guy! Sometimes, the average girl gets him, too!

But, bringing it back home. One of my good friends and his fiance got married and then, one of my cousins and her fiance got married! And all of this happened yesterday!  A lot to be going on! So, I am sure that everyone has a great time. I was unable to attend either of them, but I was able to see some pictures on Facebook and I am incredibly happy for everyone.

You know, Mom and I were talking and she was like, “You’re not Big on Weddings, are you?” And you know what? The sad thing, is that I;m really not! And it’s not like I don’t go to them, but I’m really not for the Romantic side of things! I’ve never been into that! I’ve never been into the whole Romance. And see, my Mother is completely different. She’s definitely a Romantic! She loves the flowers, the sweetness, the love and kisses and stuff. But me, No! And here’s one of the most obvious reasons to me, as to why this is. My mother’s parents were Deeply, Deeply, Madly in Love with each other. No one was more beautiful or handsome to them, but each other. It was just amazing to watch this relationship, that had developed for over Fifty years, never fade! Not even for a moment! So, I think growing up in a house like that and seeing that type of romance, has really made my Mother love it! But, my parents are divorced. There wasn’t flowers, lovey-dovey stuff. There wasn’t sweet, nice things being said and there wasn’t a relationship like that. There wasn’t a friendship. They just didn’t merge well at all. And that can cost a marriage. They were as different as day and night in two different countries, in opposite time zones!

No connection at all. Now, I’m not speaking for everyone. But for me, I am just not into that whole romance thing. None of it. I don’t want a guy to give me flowers, stuffed animals, I don’t like Chocolate, so no candy. And just don’t give me any of that stuff.

I know some guys actually like doing these things for their girlfriends, but it would great if I wasn’t on that end of it.

But, I am happy for other people that finds that happiness. I think it’s a beautiful thing to see. I really do! I think that it’s great when people find that special person, fall in love and marry them! That’s absolutely beautiful! It’s just, I’m not into that, really!

So, I’ll just be happy for others, pray for their happiness and continued bliss and just be single.

People are who they Are

I had such a terrible two weeks, because my car wasn’t working. I needed a fuel pump and I asked a friend that have a lot of knowledge and experience in mechanics. Well, that didn’t work, because he said that it wouldn’t work. So, Mom and I sent the car to the mechanics. Funny thing? The part that my friend said wouldn’t work, Did! So, I didn’t have to spend all of that money. And you wouldn’t believe how much it cost? Try Four hundred Dollars! Talk about a chunk of change.

Anyway, Saturday night, I got such an awkward feeling. I was planning on going to church, but there was something wrong. So, I tried to dismiss it, but it just didn’t work. So, I had to talk to my Mom about it. See, my Mother is a Minister and has been for over 22 years. She has been treated like crap by so many people. Especially considering the fact that she’s a woman! A lot of people don’t believe in Females being ministers. They feel that Women should be seen, look nice in their suits or dresses and hats, and be silent. Bu, that’s most definitely not my Mother!

I just decided not to go to church and maybe try and figure out what was bothering me and everything. So, Mom went to church because she was asked to do something. So, when she came back, she mentioned this meeting and I decided to go.

So last night, I went to the meeting at church. The meeting is a mandatory meeting that happens once a year in the conference that the denomination belongs to. There were very few people there and a lot of them were having some type of friction with each other. I mean, you could feel it. It was like you could cut the tension with a knife or you could serve it up like soup.

So, the meeting got underway. Midway through the meeting, the district Superintendent was reading out my Mother’s name as a candidate for ministry. What that means, is she would be line to possibly become a Pastor. She’s been taking a lot of Hell from off of these people. And many other people. Well, now I know what was bothering me so much.  There was some crap that was kicking up and it was coming directly at my Mom. The DS called her name and asked the people for a vote. And you know what happened? Nothing. Nobody raised their hands. And I just sat there shocked!  I couldn’t believe it. The bold disrespect that they are willing to show a Preacher in the house of God, Just Awful!

Then, the DS kind of looked shocked and tried it again, thinking that they didn’t hear him the first time. Oh, but they did. Yet after being asked a second time to vote, a few hands went up reluctantly and she remains in the program. But, I must say that I was highly shocked and irritated with their terrible disrespect. When a person is called by God to preach and teach his word, it is not the people’s place to determine how far that person goes. They weren’t the one that called her. I wasn’t sure if I should have told her, but she said that I did the right thing by telling her.

Then, I had a problem with a friend that I had a major crush on for years, whom was always rude and impatient with me, showed his true colors and went to the point where he said that we are no longer friends. The point is, sometimes when you like someone for years and they don’t like you back and then they are rude on top of all that, it really hurts. But, when you wise up and realize that you don’t deserve to be treated like that, you gain a new confidence in yourself. I would deny that he was a jerk. I would basically lie to myself and just say, that he was having a rough day and he was tired. Blah, Blah, Blah.

And now, he is upset because I am not paying any attention to him anymore and I don’t have a crush on him anymore. As matter of fact, that went away a very long time ago!

So, what are the points that I am trying to make here?

Both this Church and this Guy, liked to treat Mom and I like crap. They both figure that they can treat us any kind of way and we’d just stick around and take it. Like we had no place to go. But, where there’s a will, there will always be a way. I am glad that we’ve learned our lessons and have seen their true colors.

There’s nothing like learning about people not from others, but from your own observations. If you want to know people for who they really are, just give them time. They’ll show you. For as the late Maya Angleou once said,

“If someone should show you who they are, Believe them!”

What does “Real Love”Mean?

I am a big fan of Sports! I love watching it and I love watching First Take on ESPN!!! The other day, I watching First Take and they were talking about Ray and Janay Rice. In case you don’t know, there was a major problem that occurred in an elevator between Ray and his then fiance, Janay. There was a huge altercation, she was mad, he got angrier, and punch her in the face. Knocking her head first into the wall of the elevator and she dropped. On the way down, she hit her head on a steel rail! Then, he dragged her out of the elevator, left her on the ground, while he picked her flip-flops. It was a horrific picture! I just could not believe what I was seeing. I was just horrified and disgusted with what I was seeing!

And the part that sucks the worst? SHE STILL MARRIED HIM!!!!

On the show after showing the clip again, they shared a post that placed on Instagram. And here’s the part that got me. In the post, she said, “We going to show you what Real Love Is!”

Real Love, huh? Well, if that’s what Real Love looks like, then forget it! I just don’t understand why she go ahead and marry him! I just think that it is absolutely ridiculous and pointless. Months ago, after news of this broke, Ray was sentenced to Anger Management! Anger Management?! You have got to be kidding! What is that going to do? Teach him a few ways to keep anger under control for a year or so, until he loses it again?

Well, as of now, he’s officially suspended from the team. To which, I think is too long overdue. I mean, what are you keeping him around for in the league? Didn’t they think that that would bring nothing more than drama and negative press to the league? And after the Summer the NBA suffered, due to Donald Sterling, I am sure that the NFL don’t want to suffer the same.

But, it’s Football. A lot of things get a pass there. For example, there are people here that have Church Revivals. In case you’re unfamiliar with those, they are three to five day services that churches have, where they invite a  minister or Pastor from another church to preach the services. At many of these services, people turn their lives over to Jesus and they are changed. Well, a few years ago, My family and I were invited to a revival. I think that Mom had to work for many of the days, but Friday, we all able to go. We got dressed and drove to the church. Well, when we got there, no cars, no people, no sign that people had been there since Sunday. So, we were wondering what happened. Turns out, they scheduled the Revival service to start on Sunday, so that it would end Thursday, so that it wouldn’t interfere with Local Friday Night Football! I had never heard something like that ever! And it’s still going!

The fact of the matter? We all know that people are willing to turn the other cheek, if it means that certain things turn out the way that they want him to.

Somebody probably convinced her and told her that she couldn’t give up a Football player, because some other woman would steal him. Or somebody else said, Love is a Battlefield. Love is messy, he loves you, you pushed a button. Stop nagging’ Or someone else said, Well, it was your fault anyway. You know how we women can be difficult!

Either way, I could not be more disappointed with Janay’s decision to marry him after this. She’s condoning it and that’s just wrong! That is not Real Love.

In Real Love, a Man wants to hold you hand, not hit you with his.

In Real Love, the only kind of tears that a Man wants to see you shed, are those of Joy.

In Real Love, a Man will give you happy days and tries to make the bad days easy to forget.

In Real Love, the woman’s heart, understanding and loyalty are among the Man’s most prized possessions.

In Real Love, He doesn’t hit. He hugs and loves you. Even on those days, when the woman is on his nerves, it’s still not enough to keep him from sticking by you.

There’s a long list.  But, I guarantee you. A Man in Real Love knows the list and know how to utilize it the best of it’s abilities.

I pray Janay will come to her senses. Because she seriously needs it! We all need it!!!

Hello everyone!

As you know, I love sharing and reviewing books on my blog and tonight, I would like to share one from one of my good friends, Tasha Gwartney.

This story is about a woman named Ella Reese. Ella has always tried to fit into the mold that her parents have felt was ideal for her. And was told not to attempt to stand out in her hometown, where gossip is basically as popular as Monday Night Football. (Okay, maybe more popular!)

After feeling fortunate that she made it through her Senior year in one piece, she embarks on a fascinating journey. Where she learns that she is an incredibly powerful witch and there is a man that has been chosen for her. And she begins falling for her mate, slowly. But, she’s fighting the urges and thoughts that she has, going through her head. About her mate.

However, when she’s reunited with her family, she finds that accept her. Which is a major relief. She is finally getting comfortable with her new life, when suddenly she gets the world that she has now known, rocked. Because of this, chances must be taken and decisions made.

Can you believe this?

Okay, the other night, I woke up at three o’clock in the morning and I was looking on the computer. And as I was looking on Facebook, this story caught my attention. Drew Carey donated $10,000 to find these teenagers, who pulled a horrible prank on a 14 year old Autistic boy.

A 14 year old, suffering with Autism decided to take on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. And these teenagers were in charge of dumping the water from the bucket. And that’s where things went from bad to worse. Instead of filling the bucket with Ice or water, the teenagers filled it with Urine and Feces!!!
And to make matters worse, the boy’s mother found out about the prank through a cell phone video!
A Cell Phone Video!!!!

Can you believe the horror?

Can you believe the Heartlessness of these young people? I just don’t know what to say about it. I can’t imagine what this boy must have felt. I can’t imagine what his mother must be feeling and thinking. But, it’s easy for us to say what we’d do, in this situation. But, I do know one thing. These teenagers must pay for this!

This is simply unacceptable. I just don’t know what they were thinking about. Did they think that it would be funny? As matter a fact,I am sure that’s exactly what they thought. Did they think that it wouldn’t get to the internet? Virtually, everybody that doing this challenge, is uploading the videos to Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Twitter, etc. Did they really think that no one would see it? The stupidity shown here is absolutely astonishing! Disgraceful!!!

I pray that this young man and his mother, will find happiness and peace again, in the midst of this horrific and embarrassing storm. And I also pray that these teenagers, will realize the errors of their ways and the crazy stupidity that they displayed. And I think that it was great of Drew, to send this money to this cause, especially considering the fact that he’s from Ohio, which is where this took place. God bless him, this remarkably brave young man and his courageous mother!

Entrepreneurship: The Task

As a person that is basically forced to become an entrepreneur, I have learned a large amount of information about the job search.

You see in the beginning, I got started with a great online college and I’ve earned quite a bit of diplomas and so forth with them. Currently working on next degree with them as well. Initially, I thought that the more education that I’d have in a plethora of fields, the greater my chances were for success in the work force.

WRONG!!!!!

Turns out, the more education you have, you can often times be viewed as ‘Over-qualified’. It’s amazing to me! I don’t get how more education can bring bigger challenges for a person. It’s rather frustrating and disappointing. But, you can’t let it get the best of you, you’ve just got to keep moving.

So, with that being said, I have learned the importance of having my business and developing my own ideas. Honestly, I’ve always wanted to work for someone else. But sometimes, you’ve just got to understand that venturing out on your own, is your best and only option.

One of the most important things to do, is to study business. And I’m not just talking about degrees. I mean, study the businesses around you. Look at what’s happening. Look at the stores that you love to visit. Ask yourself some questions. Like, Is this business only successful here because it’s a franchise or because it’s actually needed here? Is this business successful here because of it’s location alone or does the eye-catching look of it plays a factor?

How about online businesses? Look at the blogs, computer programming, etc. Look at how many businesses have started within the four walls of someone’s home. When it comes to business, the possibilities are endless.

Finding your niche` is crucial, but it can take some time. It’s not always an overnight concept. Sometimes, you can waiting for an idea for months and still have trouble getting one. Then, comes the development. Figuring out your field, how to manage and how to market it, just to name a few. There are so many things that goes into Entrepreneurship. And as I continue on, I will be sharing with you lessons that I’m learning. I hope that you’ll be as fascinated by Entrepreneurship as I am.
