One of my New Favorite Websites

Hello Everyone! I hope and pray that all of you are having a terrific day! And if your started a little rough, remember there’s never been a storm that lasted forever. Sunshine will make another Grand Entry!!! It always does!

Okay, as you all probably know by now, I’m a Big Girl and I’m pretty proud of that. Of course, I’m going to work on getting to a lighter weight, but that’s because I want to look better for myself, not based upon someone else’s criteria or expectations. But, there is one thing that I think we can change. I do believe there could be more of a flattering spotlight on us. I mean, the fact of the matter is, sizes 10 and up represent a majority of Women in America. In a majority of stores, there are sizes that hesitantly take the chance, to stock larger sizes. But, the crazy thing is some of those really don’t fit! For me, it’s like I’m trying to stuff myself into a Pin’s head! It’s impossible! And finding stylish looks for us, is crucial as well. We all see the looks and the beautiful styles that are presented for sizes that are smaller. But, sometimes we’ll look around wondering where’s our Style? How are we represented?

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining and I know that there are a lot more fashions for us to try nowadays. But, it’s still occasionally frustrating. Well, the good thing is that I know that I’m not alone. I was looking online and working on blog posts. When this beautiful page, caught my eye.

It’s called The Daily Venus Diva. And if you haven’t heard of it, let me give you a rundown. The Daily Venus Diva is a website solely dedicated to celebrating us as Women. Celebrating the Full-Figured Woman and all that she has to offer. It features Plus Size Models, Fashion, Blog posts and it gives its readers, the Opportunity to be on the cover of their Magazine. It’s terrific and I love it.

As I’m sure that many of you heard about the Lane Bryant Campaign called “#I’m No Angel”. Basically, taking a stab at the “Angel” Campaigns so familiar to us, from Victoria’s Secret. Well, this is where I first found out about it. The confidence, the pride, the literal happiness that that displayed was outstanding. Honestly, they’ve got far more guts than I have. Because I guarantee you, I couldn’t do it. I would be absolutely scared to put on lingerie and take pictures. Especially those that are going live, on the Internet. But, the way that they unapologetically showcased their beauty, was inspiring to me. And I am extremely proud of DVD, for celebrating us and the moves that we’re making in the world.

Now, I want to go on record as saying, this is not a post bashing women that are of smaller sizes. We are All Beautiful and each and every one of us, deserves to be appreciated and shown in a great light. We should all be held to high regard. But, we must first hold ourselves to high regard.

I am very proud of us, Women. Because, being a Woman is not an easy thing to be. But, hey somebody’s gotta do it. And honestly, Big or Small, I wouldn’t want to be anything else.
